Acerola is the name given to small shrubs, also known as "Barbados cherry", that grows in the Caribbean, America and Central America. It is usually found in the dry parts of these regions. This tree has small red fruits like cherries. This fruit with a juicy, sweet-bitter effect, namely Acerola, is a complete vitamin C store. Only 100 g contains 1000-4500 mg of vitamin C. In addition, according to a clinical study, it was concluded that Acerola contains 50 to 100 times more vitamin C compared to orange, which is known as a vitamin C store.

The rate of vitamin A in Acerola, in which more than 150 nutritional components are detected, is between 4300-12500 units per 100 g. Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Calcium, Iron and Bioflavonoids are also other components of Acerola. It also contains phosphorus, potassium, malic acid, pantothenic acid and magnesium.

In an article published in the "Bulletin of Agricultural and Nutritional Chemistry" in 2005, it was announced that researchers determined that Acerola contains antioxidants. Antioxidants, which neutralize toxins that cause cellular deterioration and invite many diseases, also support the immune system.
